MEET THE TEAM

Christine Wonnacott.jpg

I’m Christine Wonnacott, founder of East Anglian Equine Sheath Cleaning, covering Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and the eastern half of Cambridgeshire.

I have loved horses all my life, being lucky enough to have my own from the age of 10. My first gelding in 1993 had an issue with his sheath whereby he very rarely ever put it away fully. I investigated and removed a large bean, solving the problem, and teaching me from a young age the importance of sheath care. I enjoyed the best partnership with him for the next 20 years.

I went to Writtle College in Chelmsford and completed a BTEC ND in Horse Studies, followed by a BSc Hons Degree in Animal Science. After college I have had various roles including Trainee Embryologist in an IVF clinic (for people), Customer Service in the education sector and IT Support. Throughout this time I carried out sheath cleaning on my own horses and for friends, but it was the first lock down in 2020 that gave me the push I needed to start sheath cleaning full time. Now it is my full time occupation and I love it!

I have a strong base of really lovely repeat customers and regularly visit new clients too; often for horses that have never been cleaned before or have unknown history. It’s never too late to start. I am calm, quiet and patient and enjoy a very good rapport with horses.

I am committed to providing the highest quality of care for all the horses I see, as well as running my business in a professional manner, including always responding to every direct message I receive.

TESTIMONIALS

I would highly recommend Christine! She came out to visit today & was super lovely, calm, gentle & very professional. My horse seemed to find the experience very relaxing & enjoyable

Christine was the first to recognise an issue with my gelding which was then later confirmed by the vet, she has been brilliant with caring for him since then. She is super with all of my horses, very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Christine was reassuring from first contact and so good with my gelding for his first ever clean. He can be anxious with new people and experiences but was completely relaxed by the end with Christine’s calm approach. Great communication from start to finish. Highly recommend. Thanks Christine.

I have been having Christine. EAESC coming to me and my pony Gerald for four years. It was on one of her visits, she noticed that my pony had a few lumps, down below. We contact my vet, and he was operated on very soon, it’s down to Christine that we were able to get things swiftly sorted. And we had a good outcome. I wouldn’t hesitate to call her out, if l had a problem.

Trish Wrench

Had three equines attended to consisting of 2 Shetland ponies and our Show Cob. Very patient and calm with a very nervy Shetland. Would highly recommend this service, very professional.

Christine has been taking care of all of my livery yards sheath cleaning needs for several years. She is truly superb and horses that have always required heavy sedation are now manageable with minimal or in most cases no restraint. She is always kind, calm and a pleasure to spend the day working with. I simply would not use anybody else!
